We want to introduce you to the people who make UIG great. Look for new interviews each week.
Meet Social Officer, Stephen R.!
How long have you been improvising?
Approximately 4 years, I started in high school and it is still so much fun!
How long have you been involved with the UIG?
This is my second year. It is so gr8! I was a Promotions Officer last year and this year I am a Social Officer. SO MUCH FUN.
What or who got you interested in improv?
I did drama in high school but I was really bad at memorizing lines. So bad in fact that, although I could remember the general jist of a line, I would end up semi-improvising some the words I said. I realized that I could improvise all the words I said by doing improv! I was really sold when my high school improv dream team came in 3rd at the Nosebowl in Edmonton. This will likely be the best placement a Leduc Composite High School improv team will ever receive at that competition and I am okay with this.
What is something most people don't know about the UIG?
The best UIG secret I know is that we have an ultra-secret meeting room. I can't tell you where it is but I can give you a hint. The hint is that it is somewhere where many people go but few people see, somewhere where they don't want to take your money but you have to pay a fee. Good luck trying to find it.
What is the best part about being a member of UIG?
I like the people. They're funny, progressive, supportive, and neat! Also in our secret meeting room we have lots of treasure, like gold medallions. Fun to play with, not to eat! Ha ha!
Why should someone come to a UIG show?
Many of us are single and ready to mingle! Come to a show and fall in love with me!!! I have a few qualities of merit and overall I am okay!!!
You can catch Stephen at the upcoming Showdown Show on Thursday, February 26, 2016! If you're lucky, he will still be single and ready to mingle! Get him while he's hot!
